Fr Michael Rasicci’s homily for the 15th Sunday after Pentecost, 09/10/2023, Calvary Episcopal Church, Batavia, IL–Mass on the Grass.
In the second lesson today, Paul reminds us that many commandments are summed up in this–“Love Your Neighbor as Yourself.” Love is the fulfilling of the law.
To love, we must forgive. When we cannot forgive, we bind ourselves in ways that impact us and those around us.
We need to ask God to help us forgive, especially when we find it hard to forgive someone.
(Readings: Exodus 12:1-14; Psalm 149; Romans 13:8-14; Matthew 18:15-20)
