Fr Michael Rasicci’s homily for Palm Sunday, 04/02/2023, Calvary Episcopal Church, Batavia, IL.
In the times of Christ, palms were a symbol of victory–Generals received a palm when they won an important battle, athletes were awarded palms instead of trophies. For Christians, the palm signifies Christ’s victory over death.
(Readings: Matthew 21:1-11; Isaiah 50: 4-9A; Psalm 31: 9-16; Philippians 2: 5-11; Matthew 26: 1 – 27: 66)
