What Do I Want Jesus to Do for Me?
Fr Michael Rasicci’s homily for the 23rd Sunday after Pentecost, 10/27/2024, Calvary Episcopal Church, Batavia, IL.
Jesus had a human heart and responded to the people coming to him with a heartfelt response. Bartimaeus, a blind beggar, shouted out to Jesus as he passed by, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me.” Jesus asked him, “What Do You Want Me to Do for You?” Bartimaeus said, “Teacher, let me see again.” Jesus restored his sight and Bartimaeus immediately followed Jesus.
We, too, need to ask Jesus for what we want Jesus to do for us so that we can follow Jesus and His teachings in our hearts, thoughts, and actions.
