Happy New Year! Holy Name of Jesus
Fr Michael Rasicci’s homily for New Years Day, 01/01/2024–“Holy Name of Jesus”–Calvary Episcopal Church, Batavia, IL
In today’s Gospel (Luke 2: 15-21), Luke speaks about Jesus’s circumcision and naming day, 8 days after His birth. Jesus received the name the Angel told Mary to name Him.
Through our baptism, we, too, are children of God and Jesus lives in us and we in him. Our lives, more and more, need to reflect the love and the good that Jesus does.
