God’s Gift of Grace Empowers Us
God’s Gift of Grace Empowers Us to Do What He Calls Us to Do–
Fr Michael Rasicci’s homily for the 2nd Sunday after Pentecost, 06/11/2023, Calvary Episcopal Church, Batavia, IL
In the First Lesson today, God accounted Abraham’s faith as righteousness and rewarded him accordingly. In today’s Gospel, three people of faith received God’s Grace through Christ Jesus–Matthew, the disciple and former tax collector, a leader of the synagogue and his daughter who Jesus raised from the dead, and a woman who was healed after touching His cloak. To this woman, Jesus said, “. . .Your faith has made you well.”
(Readings: Genesis 12:1-9; Psalm 33:1-12; Romans 4:13-25; Matthew 9:9-13, 18-26)
