The Longest Night

Celebrating the Winter Solstice

Dec 21, 2020 | 6:00 p.m.

On one special night in December, we celebrate the winter solstice, the longest night of the year. The anticipation of Christmas can be a joyful time for many, but others may feel lost, empty, and alone. This speaks particularly to persons who have had a difficult year, to those dealing with COVID-19, and losses of all kinds. On Monday, December 21, the Downtown Batavia churches will ring their bells at 6:00 PM inviting all those who are having a hard time on the longest night of the year be aware that you are not alone. Help is available through the congregations and also from the Batavia Counselors’ Collaboration. If you need some emotional support to handle these difficult times, please contact the office at (630) 879-3378 and we’ll get you in touch with a group that can be of great assistance to you. In the comfort of Jesus we will find a way through the darkness and into hope.

The event is finished.
