Blessing of the Backpacks

Calvary Episcopal Church would like to send children and educators back to school with a blessing! All K-12 students, college students, educators, and school employees are invited to receive a special blessing at the 10:15 a.m. service. Bring your backpacks (lunch boxes or other school bags) to receive a special blessing to start the new school year. Anyone attending school this fall is invited to bring something to be blessed! Let this school year be one of safety, peace, love, and comfort in Jesus.

Calvary is collecting school supplies to help local school-age students whose families struggle financially. Thank you for supporting local students by donating the following items; backpacks, water bottles, pens, pencils, notebooks, and hand sanitizer. Students who don’t have school supplies can’t fully participate in class. As a community, we must support these students and provide them with the items they need for a successful academic year. We will be collecting these supplies through August 14th, when they will be delivered to Lazarus House.
