Pentecost–Reaching Out to ‘Nones’ and ‘Dones’
Fr Michael Rasicci’s homily for Pentecost Sunday, 05/19/2024.
The Day of Pentecost (50 days after the Passover) is the day the Holy Spirit came to Christ’s apostles and disciples–and, through our baptism, to all baptised Christians. The Readings today tell us how much the Holy Spirit is involved in maintaining our connection with Christ. Some members of Calvary parish are interested in reaching out to “Nones” and “Dones.” “Nones” have never been involved with a church. “Dones” have left the church for various reasons. The Holy Spirit, through our baptism, reminds us to keep spreading Christ’s Good News.
(Readings: Acts 2:1-21; Psalm 104:25-35, 37 – S 415; Romans 8:22-27; John 15:26-27,16:4-15)
