Homily, 3rd Sunday after Epiphany
Fr Michael Rasicci’s homily for the 3rd Sunday after Epiphany, 01/26/2025,
“God, Help us to concentrate on the gifts You have given us to build up our community.”
Calvary Episcopal Church, Batavia, IL
In the second lesson today, Paul reminds the Corinthians of all the gifts God has given to the community–gifts to be shared and valued. Calvary Episcopal Church has been a parish for 170 years. In that time countless people have been inspired by Christ to share their gifts to help build our community. Today is our 2024 Parish Annual Meeting. Again, we need to concentrate on the gifts given to our community to build it up and to support our mission.
(Readings: Nehemiah 8:1-3, 5-6, 8-10; Psalm 19; 1 Corinthians 12:12-31a; Luke 4:14-21)
