New Here?

Sometimes the smallest step in the right direction, ends up being the biggest step of your life.  Join our online community and our parish family in Batavia, IL.

We greet you on behalf of the entire Calvary Episcopal Church parish. You are warmly invited to join us for worship, prayer, fellowship, and study.

Here at Calvary you will find people of all ages and backgrounds who have responded to God’s call to follow his Son, Jesus Christ. Some of us are “cradle” Episcopalians, members of the church since birth. Some are new residents who wish to continue their lifelong churchgoing experience. Some grew up in a church tradition, stopped attending for one reason or another, and are now seeking to reestablish that relationship. Some come with their families, wishing to make church a part of their children’s lives. Some are in the midst of a painful or challenging time, and are seeking support and answers. Some have no prior church experience, and come wondering what all the fuss is about. The rich diversity at Calvary very much mirrors the church-at-large, and like that body, we welcome all.

Questions You May Have

We’re so glad you’ve decided to visit us! You’ll find a list of commonly asked questions below. Please don’t hesitate to send us a message or give us a call at (630) 879-3378 with any questions you may have.

 What should I wear?

Our church has a “come as you are” atmosphere. You will see some dressed up; some dressed casual.

Who may worship in an Episcopal Church?

All are welcome. And all baptized Christians, of any age or denomination, are welcome at the Lord’s table to receive Holy Communion.

What if I have not been baptized?

You are still more than welcome to participate in worship. At the time of Communion you may come forward to cross your arms over your chest to receive a blessing. If you would like to be baptized, please speak to our priest.

How can I participate?

All of Calvary’s worship, education, outreach and fellowship activities are open to all. To stay up-to-date regarding these activities, be sure to give the parish office your email address. We will add you to our mailing list right away. Also, be sure to regularly check out the Activities Bulletin Board outside of the kitchen, and the video monitors throughout our facility.
