Socially Conscious Resolutions Passed by the Convention

1. Encourage congregations to study a program  sponsored by The Movement for Black Lives: “A Vision for Black Lives: Policy Demands for Place Power, Freedom, and Justice”. (While the focus is on Black lives, the actual program focuses on all skin colors and marginalized populations.)

4.  Encourage congregations to study the circumstances surrounding the solidarity with Standing Rock Souix.  There were mixed feelings about this legislation. The motion passed and congregations are asked to investigate the circumstances regarding this tribe and the Pipeline Project. There is a concern for purity of drinking water and contamination of sacred lands.
